Shahla Safi-Zamir was born in 1327 in Tehran. His father-in-law was the director of the Ministry of Roads and his mother was an elementary school teacher. Marjan completed his primary education at Alvand High School. At the age of 12, he was a teenager reporter for Girls and Boys Magazine (Childrens Information) and also broadcast the magazines weekly program on television.
